March 1st = National Pig Day!

Happy National Pig Day! 🐽🎉 Did you know that March 1 is dedicated to celebrating pigs? 🐖 National Pig Day was founded in 1972 to recognize how amazing, intelligent, and important pigs are—both in nature and in our lives.

From the curious babirusa to the colorful Red River Hog, this video is a fun tribute to these fascinating animals! Pigs are not only smart (they can solve puzzles and recognize themselves in mirrors!) but also social and playful creatures. So today, let’s appreciate our snouty, smart, and lovable pig friends! 🥳

Here are a few interesting facts about pigs:

Omnivorous Diet – Pigs eat a wide variety of foods, including plants, roots, fruits, and even small animals, making them highly adaptable foragers.

Strong Sense of Smell – All pigs have highly developed olfactory senses, using their snouts to root in the ground for food.

Social Behavior – Pigs are generally social animals, often living in groups called sounders and displaying complex communication through vocalizations and body language.
